Content: A musical journey through the songs of Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and many more of the great popular singers, featuring Matthew Ford and his stunning quartet.
Audience: The show will appeal to fans of the Great American Songbook, Jazz and Swing music, Rat Pack, Tony Bennett, Matt Monro, Bobby Darin and Jack Jones.
Matthew Ford first came to public attention in 1996 when he appeared before an audience of 10 million viewers on Granada TV's 'Stars in their Eyes'. In 2000 Matt began touring with the famous 'Syd Lawrence Orchestra', and remained with them for 5 successful years. Matthew left the orchestra in late 2005, to pursue his solo career and is currently in great demand.
2007 was quite a year for Matthew Ford. As well as beginning the year with a Ronnie Scott's Jazz Award Nomination, he performed with the 60 piece RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin. During the summer months Matt performed at the wedding of Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard, and recorded his second album titled 'On The Other Side of the Tracks'. Autumn saw Matt in the company of Royalty as he sang for HRH Duchess of York and the Malaysian Royal Family. Matt finished the year with another sell out concert in Dublin's National Concert Hall, broadcast live on radio throughout Eire.
In 2008 Matt performed with numerous big bands and orchestras throughout the UK, including the City of Birmingham, RTE Concert, Northern Sinfonia, and BBC Concert Orchestras. In December last year Matt debuted on BBC Radio 2's Big Band Special programme, and will again broadcast with the BBC Big Band in September this year.
In February this year Matthew made another debut, this time on the ever popular 'Friday Night Is Music Night', and in May performed once again at Symphony Hall with the CBSO, and 'Strictly' dancers Iain Waite and Camilla Dallerup in 'Symphony Ballroom'.
As if this wasn't enough Matthew is now touring with his new show 'A Tribute to the Swing Legends', a high quality tribute to the great popular singers. The show features songs such as 'Mack The Knife', 'I Left My Heart In San Francisco, 'The Good Life' and 'For Once in my Life'. Accompanying Matthew will be a stunning band including some of the UK's finest and most in demand musicians.
